How to ask for Google reviews at the end of a service call
Short answer: ask in person, right after the customer sees the problem fixed, and hand them a QR card or text the link before you leave. Ask every customer the same way.
When to ask
Ask at close-out, while the customer is standing there and the work is fresh. Waiting a week for an email ask means most people forget.
What to say
Keep it to two sentences. For example: "Glad we got this sorted out for you. If you have a minute, a Google review helps us a lot. I can text you the link right now."
Then stop talking. Hand over the card or send the text.
Make it easy
- Use your direct review link from your Google Business Profile.
- Keep a QR card on every truck. Make one free.
- Save the link as a text shortcut on every tech's phone.
Make it a habit
Add "review card handed over" to the close-out checklist, right next to "invoice paid." What gets checked gets done.
What not to do
- Do not ask only the customers who seem happy. Google bans selectively asking for positive reviews.
- Do not offer discounts or gifts for reviews.
- Do not write reviews for customers or post them yourself.
